The Menu starts to take shape

So to add to the surrealist hi tea menu, I will be hopefully successfully whipping up these stain glass jellies, flavouring them with blends of home made teas.

Lady Marie's monsters

very excited to present Lady Marie's little crochet monsters. They will be joining the tea party, seated in the bed of dreams, the loft space where you will be able to have your fortune read from a tea cup. Maybe you will be fortunate to have one of these little guys come home with you.

Shattered Swans and a three pence

These gorgeous pieces will be for sale during the weekend. The very talented lady Caren has kindly brought along her beautifully hand crafted jewellery to give people the opportunity to take some of the magic to wear with them always.

Tiny Speakers

The lovely lady Anna has created some tiny cushion speakers for sale, the first of a few of the goodies we have in store.
Anna will be creating a little sound installation as part of the tea ladies and is our resident sound lady.
Loving the hand stitched labels.

gentleman tao

gentleman tao is one of my favourite characters, I have a life ( well my size, which isn't very tall) size painting of him in my flat as well as on a wall on Pitfield St in east london. I will hopefully have a few screen prints of him for sale at the event.

where i stole all my images from

the tea ladies posters and flyers feature beautiful japanese ladies from another time, which I took from this brilliant document to old japan. Here is a link to okinawa soba's flickr site they are all featured on.

The Tea Ladies

The idea for the tea ladies came about from my sister's love of blending teas, my friend's love of making cakes and a general love for the whole ceremony surrounding tea.

Having travelled the world over and been privy to many different tea ceremonies around the world, it is my dream one day to set up a self sufficient tea house in the wilds of Byron Bay.

In the meantime living on the Brighton sea front, I thought it would be a great opportunity to make the most of the lovely weather to create an impromptu tea house for two weekends in May. I invited all my female friends to participate and the result is the tea ladies.

In the lead up to May I will be transforming my home into a mad hatter's tea house.

The menu will include a selection of regular teas, the specialist tysk teas (blended by my sister), surreal sandwiches, hi and cream teas.

Artwork, tea towels, jewellery and homewares will also be on sale. Hope to see you here on the 14th and 15th May, and the 21st and 22nd.
